Wedding Party

Sara Villalobos
Sara Villalobos - Maid of Honor
Older sister, third parent, and one of my best friends. I am honored to have Sara be my Maid of Honor. Favorite Memory: My fav memory of Itzel is a composition of lots of memories. Like her taking her first steps, her first day at school, and just seeing her grow up. All of those things are my favorite memories of Itzel.
Janeth Soto

How we met: We met on a hot summer day in high school. At this point we are childhood best friends. Favorite Memory: It was around when we were in college, we both still lived at home but we had a sleepover at your house and we stayed up all night talking! There would be many more nights like that in store for us

How we met: Trauma bond (work) we started working together right after I graduated college and coming into a professional work environment I was so scared but anyone who has ever met Itzel knows how warm and welcoming she is so as soon as she said hi to me that first day all my nerves went away. She’s been a friend and a mentor ever since! Favorite memory: We spend 40 hours a week together so its hard to choose cause there are so many but this one isn’t a specific day it was a couple months. we had to share an office space for the summer and that was just such an important time in our friendship because it was when we shifted from coworkers to friends.

How we met: we met in the break room a few weeks of me moving to AZ. We were both warming food for lunch and i was still so nervous to talk to people. You were so welcoming and the little conversation we had continued to our friendship!  Favorite Memory: when we ordered a mimosa flight for my birthday and it turned out to be a whole bottle of champagne and one glass of orange juice shared between us. We somehow finished the bottle!

How we met: We first met when you came over to Matt’s apartment in Scottsdale near his birthday. Favorite Memory: When you came to CO and you rode in my car with me to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain. I deeply enjoyed our conversations and us rocking out and jamming out to music. I’ve always loved how thoughtful you were since we first met, but learned even more how much of a caring person and friend you are from that trip!

How we met: we met in a very normal way - an office icebreaker. This was when we both worked at Phil. We were all crammed into that fancy conference room at Industrious for one of those classic new-hire icebreakers that Julio made us do—and I was already dreading it. But then you started speaking, and suddenly everything felt different. Your energy was off the charts—an 13/10 in the friendly department. Meanwhile, there was this other new hire across the table giving me this really weird serious side-eye for awhile, and I’m thinking—“What’s this person’s deal?” Unfortunately, that person distracted me from your icebreaker and made me really anxious. Glad she didn’t stay at the company , but you stayed! In the weeks that followed, you asked me every question under the sun—about the job, the team, probably, no exaggerating, like every hour on the hour it was like clockwork. Before I knew it, we became friends and moved to a new office. It was all built on random inside jokes, deep conversations, and a mutual interest in not being bored as work. You kept things fun. You honestly made work feel less like work, and that’s a talent not many people have.  Fast forward many margaritas and 6 years, here we are, celebrating your wedding day. It’s wild to think how we started off in that conference room of forced introductions, only to end up right here—on one of the most important days of your life. I’m beyond excited to be part of your crew, cheering you on. Congratulations and looking forward to many more questions :) Favorite Memory: Okay, so maybe I’m the absolute worst for bringing up a story that starts and ends with me inhaling an entire Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake—and, by the way, not just any Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake, but THE Cheesecake Factory masterpiece that costs more than my monthly streaming subscriptions combined. Oh, and fun fact. I weighed it. It was four pounds. That’s bigger than your average Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake and definitely bigger than my sense of self-preservation. I flat-out warned you and Janeth: “Don’t buy me a whole Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake, because I’ll have zero self-control, and you’ll have to listen to me suffer while I roll around in sugar-induced regret for the next two weeks.” Did that keep you from crashing through my front door unannounced, armed with cutlery with far too much confidence in me? Nope. Fast-forward to me, furious at both of you. Because honestly, who does that to a friend?—but also me, pathetically delirious about every mouthwatering bite. I was practically in a love-hate relationship with that Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake, cursing its rich sauciness while refusing to leave even a crumb of that graham cracker crust behind. And here I am, bragging about it like it’s some major life accomplishment: “Check out my claim to fame, everyone! I ate a four-pound Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake on my birthday and was sick for half a month!” Selfish? Totally. Overdramatic? Absolutely. Would I do it all again in a heartbeat? …Yeah. So, if you two surprise me with another slice (or let’s face it, another entire Cheesecake Factory Salted Caramel Cheesecake), you already know I’ll pretend to be outraged. But we all know I’ll eat that cake just as fast.

How we met: I am lucky to have connected with Itzy at a previous job we had. I moved to the team she was in and sat next to her. Ever since then, little by little, our friendship grew. Favorite Memory: I'll never forget the time we went to Seattle and they gave us a Mustang (convertible)! Now we have a long distance friendship withstanding my move to the other side of the world. I am grateful we have maintained our friendship despite the distance!

Orlando Acosta Salazar
Orlando Acosta Salazar - Best Man
Best friend, a brother from another mother, a man who will take a bullet for any day. I am honored to be Michael's best man. The Man of Honor role tends to be a person's relative to the groom. Therefore, it means a lot to me that he chose me when he had many alternatives. I have plenty of great memories with Michael but choosing only one is a crime. For that reason, I would like to mention every hiking situation I did with Michael has been my most fond memory with him. I woke up early in the morning, getting ready to meet up with him sometimes at his house or Snoh just to do an hour hike, where instead we could have been home sleeping in. We would hike Camelback Mountain all the time but it kick our ass but Michael never gave up. Whenever we finished hiking we would always get Phở, Yes I know that defeated the whole purpose of hiking but I can never say no to him since he always recommends it. Eating with Michael after our hiking trip was constantly of us talking about what was happening in our lives. Our talks can range from what we ate last night to how can someone live a life with overwhelmed thoughts of sorrow, and back to who's opening up the store today. Maintaining a deep conversation and then switching to jokes is something I deeply enjoyed doing with Michael. Michael is whom I don't need to see in months maybe years but can talk to him like we are continuing the conversation we had the last time I saw him. Let us keep shooting the breeze not just today or tomorrow but whenever we can.
